Overview

Our client, a well-established organization in Bakersfield is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This is a full-time, in-person opportunity offering a broad scope of responsibilities and the opportunity for continued professional growth.

The Senior Staff Accountant will support key accounting and financial operations, including financial reporting, account reconciliations, billing, accounts receivable, cash management, and month-end close activities.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and analytical accounting professional who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and contribute to an efficient and accurate accounting operation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reconciliations, and reports
  • Assist with financial reporting and analysis
  • Support billing, accounts receivable, and collections activities
  • Perform cash management and related accounting functions
  • Review transactions and financial information for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure accounting activities are completed in accordance with GAAP
  • Utilize accounting and financial systems to support daily operations
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflows
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Collaborate with internal departments and leadership
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive financial information


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field
  • 4+ years of relevant accounting or financial operations experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with accounting or financial management systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional and collaborative approach
  • Ability to learn new systems and take on increasing levels of responsibility


Compensation & Benefits
