Remove process scaling, polymers, and debris to restore optimal thermal efficiency.

Core Responsibilities

- Header Box Access: Remove and reinstall plug-sheet plugs, cover plates, and gaskets on air-cooled heat exchanger headers to gain access to tube bundles.
- Industrial Cleaning: Operate high-pressure water-blasting (hydro-blasting), rotary mechanical tube cleaners, or specialized abrasive/grit-blast equipment to clear internal tube fouling and external fin buildup.
- Inspection Support: Prepare internal tube surfaces and headers for non-destructive examination (NDE) such as IRIS, ECT, or ultrasonic testing by ensuring total removal of residual process scale.
- Safety & Containment: Set up safe work areas, manage hazardous waste or spent blast media containment, and strictly follow confined space entry and lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols.
- Maintenance & Reporting: Inspect headers, plugs, and gaskets for thread damage, corrosion, or wear; document completed tasks and report equipment defects.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Physical Stamina: Comfort working in tight spaces, elevated catwalks, and heavy industrial plant environments.
- Technical Skills: Must be able to read a tape measure, use hand, Power and pneumatic tools, or specialized heat-exchanger maintenance gear.
