Position Summary
A growing ophthalmology practice is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support providers and deliver an exceptional patient experience. This role combines clinical and administrative responsibilities, including patient preparation, diagnostic testing, exam room setup, and assisting physicians during patient visits.
No prior ophthalmic experience is required. Comprehensive training is provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in starting or growing a healthcare career.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and explain testing procedures.
- Obtain patient histories and gather clinical information.
- Perform diagnostic and screening tests as directed by providers.
- Assist ophthalmologists and optometrists during exams and in-office procedures.
- Coordinate patient flow to support efficient clinic operations.
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, equipment, medications, and supplies.
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and team members.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinical environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable, professional, and team-oriented attitude.
Preferred
- Previous healthcare, medical office, or patient care experience.
- Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
