Nassau Veterinary Clinic is looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our experienced and collaborative medical team. What You'll Be DoingIn this role, you'll work closely with our veterinarians throughout appointments, procedures, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and hospitalized patient care. Responsibilities may include:
Performing venipuncture and placing IV catheters
Collecting and processing blood, urine, and other laboratory samples
Preparing patients for surgical and dental procedures
Monitoring patients throughout anesthesia and recovery
Obtaining digital and dental radiographs
Administering medications, vaccines, fluids, and prescribed treatments
Providing nursing care and monitoring hospitalized patients
Assisting veterinarians during examinations and procedures
Reviewing discharge instructions and treatment plans with pet owners
Maintaining accurate medical records and supporting an efficient treatment area
Our facility gives the veterinary team access to the equipment and space needed to provide comprehensive patient care, including:
Digital diagnostic imaging
Ultrasound
Dedicated surgery and dentistry areas
Multiple examination rooms
Spacious treatment and hospitalization areas
Grooming and training facilities
Outdoor areas for patient activity and enrichment
We're seeking an LVT who is confident in their technical abilities while also valuing communication, teamwork, and compassionate care.
Qualifications include:
Current New York State Veterinary Technician license
Previous clinical veterinary experience
Proficiency with core technician skills, including venipuncture, catheter placement, patient treatments, and anesthesia monitoring
Strong patient handling and nursing skills
Dependable and collaborative approach to teamwork
Professional communication with clients and coworkers
Interest in continuing to develop clinical knowledge and technical skills
This is a full-time opportunity with a consistent weekly schedule. Every-other-Saturday availability is required.
