Job Description
The Dear Agency Farmers Insurance is growing, and we are looking for a Commercial Insurance Assistant to support our expanding commercial book of business.
This is not a position for someone who simply wants to answer phones and complete basic administrative tasks. We are looking for someone who can take ownership, stay ahead of deadlines, communicate professionally with business owners, and become a critical part of our Commercial Insurance team.
The right person will work directly with the Agency Owner and assist with servicing, quoting, renewals, documentation, certificates, underwriting requirements, and the day-to-day management of commercial accounts.

Responsibilities
Assist with new and existing Commercial Insurance accounts
Gather and organize information needed for commercial quotes and applications
Prepare and process Certificates of Insurance (COIs)
Assist with policy changes, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and other service requests
Communicate with customers, underwriters, carriers, lenders, vendors, and other business partners
Track outstanding underwriting requirements, documents, signatures, payments, and follow-ups
Review commercial account information for completeness and accuracy
Assist with Commercial General Liability, Property, Commercial Auto, Workers' Compensation, Umbrella/Excess, and other business insurance products
Maintain detailed and accurate documentation in agency management systems
Help prepare accounts for renewal reviews
Request loss runs, driver information, vehicle schedules, payroll/revenue information, and other underwriting documentation
Assist with applications and insurance forms
Identify missing information and potential coverage needs for review by the licensed agent
Follow up consistently with customers and prospects
Help keep the commercial department organized and running efficiently
Provide a high level of customer service while maintaining urgency and professionalism
Protect confidential customer and agency information at all times
Requirements
General Lines Property & Casualty and General Lines Life & Health required
Strong Insurance Track Record
Extremely organized and detail-oriented
Able to manage multiple accounts, deadlines, and priorities at the same time
A strong communicator by phone, email, and in person
Comfortable speaking professionally with business owners and decision-makers
Self-motivated and willing to take initiative
Accountable and able to follow through without constant reminders
Coachable and willing to learn
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Able to recognize when something is missing or doesn't look right
Confident asking questions instead of making assumptions
Proficient with computers and able to learn new systems quickly
Someone who takes pride in accuracy and completing work correctly the first time
