Job Description
An established visual communications and production company is seeking a Mailing Machine Operator to join its Charlotte team. In this role, you will set up and operate mailing equipment, including inkjet systems, matching/camera systems, and high-speed inserters, while following production specifications and postal regulations. You will verify job components, complete production documentation, perform basic equipment maintenance, and help ensure finished mail pieces meet quality and accuracy standards. This position is ideal for someone with manufacturing, printing, distribution, or fulfillment experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, start up, and shut down mailing equipment, including inkjet systems, matching/camera systems, and high-speed inserters
- Complete scheduled production jobs according to job tickets while meeting established productivity and quality standards
- Inspect and verify job components, samples, counts, labels, tray tags, and other production documentation for accuracy
- Sort, tray, strap, and prepare finished mail pieces in accordance with U.S. Postal regulations
- Maintain production logs, track job costs and production hours as required, perform basic equipment maintenance, and maintain a clean and safe work area
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One or more years of experience in printing, manufacturing, distribution, and/or fulfillment preferred
- Experience setting up and operating mailing equipment such as MCS, Pitney Bowes, Bell and Howell equipment preferred
- Basic computer, math, measurement, and written/verbal communication skills required; ability to follow written machine setup instructions
- Ability to learn to operate a pallet jack; previous pallet jack experience preferred
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods and frequently walk, reach, bend, climb, kneel, crouch, and stoop
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive work requiring manual dexterity
- Ability to visually inspect finished work for defects
- Ability to work overtime as needed

The base pay range for this position is $18.50–$22.00 per hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
