Maintenance Helper
Job Type: Temporary with the opportunity to become permanent
Location: West Locations of Orange County
Pay: $18/hr
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (½ hour lunch); some overtime may be required
Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Maintenance Helper to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to transition into a permanent role with the county for the right candidate. The position involves a variety of preventative maintenance tasks, including cleaning, painting, and mechanical assembly, with an emphasis on industrial mechanical work.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, and mechanical assembly.
Utilize hand tools and measurement instruments for maintenance and repair tasks.
Follow blueprints and instructions accurately.
Assist with assembly, installation, and maintenance of pumps, motor fittings, and other mechanical systems.
Work in confined spaces, climb ladders up to 30 feet, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Adhere to safety protocols, including hazardous materials (Hazmat) handling if applicable.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient operations.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic mechanical assembly or maintenance experience preferred.
Ability to work outdoors and handle physical tasks such as climbing ladders and lifting heavy objects.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with pumps, motor fittings, or handyman work.
Proficiency in using tools and good measurement skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Hazmat experience is a plus.
A willingness to learn and grow within the role.
