Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Education: MSN or DNP from an accredited program

Licensure: RN license + national NP certification (AANP, ANCC, APRN, etc.)

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Qualifications & Skills

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychiatric Nursing
• Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
• Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner
• Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or another relevant certifying body
• Graduate from an accredited nurse practitioner program with a focus on psychiatry
• Experience in a clinical psychiatric setting
• Experience in our willingness to work with some abuse and IDD populations and all ages
• Knowledge of current mental health laws and ethical standards
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Experience with a diverse patient population
• Leadership and management abilities
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a psychiatric setting
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care
