Adaptive Skills Trainer - Masters Degree Required - 3 years experience

We are seeking a compassionate and qualified Adaptive Skills Trainer to provide in-home behavioral support and potty training interventions.

Job Overview

• Role: Adaptive Skills Trainer
• Location: In-home or Community Based in Pasadena
• Schedule: 20-30 hours a week.
• An Adaptive Skills Trainer helps clients learn daily living skills. You will work one-on-one with the client. Your main goal is to build independence, confidence, and self-care habits using positive reinforcement.

Key Responsibilities

• Potty Training: Implement a structured, consistent toilet-training plan. Track progress and adjust steps as needed.
• Daily Living Skills: Teach hygiene, dressing, feeding, and grooming routines.
• Behavior Interventions: Use approved behavioral strategies to reduce challenging behaviors and encourage positive habits.
• Data Tracking: Write daily notes on the client’s progress. Share updates with family members or supervisors.
• Family Collaboration: Work closely with parents or caregivers to keep training consistent across all settings.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience: At least 1–2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental delays, autism, or behavioral needs in a trainer sort of capacity not behavioral.
• Specialized Skills: Proven success with potty training and behavior intervention plans.
• Certifications: Must possess a Masters Degree in a Human Services Field. CPR and First Aid certification ( can assist upon hire).
• Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and provide references.
• Personal Attributes: Patient, reliable, energetic, and empathetic.
