Job Description

Deployment Strategist (Active TS/SCI Required)

Location: Arlington, VA (On-Site)

Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $170,000 - $220,000

AGF Talent is leading the search for a Deployment Strategist on behalf of a fast-growing company building AI platforms for high-consequence government environments.

The Opportunity

This organization is looking for someone who can walk into a mission space, understand how the work actually gets done, and turn that understanding into a working system. This isn't a training role or a project management seat. It's a technical, domain-driven position for someone who has done the work themselves and can translate that expertise into configured, functioning AI workflows that analysts and operators actually trust.

This company builds AI platforms for high-consequence government environments and has grown quickly, winning competitively awarded federal contracts and standing up work in classified networks. The team brings together backgrounds from intelligence, elite engineering, and military service. You'll be making decisions that directly affect national security outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

This role centers on turning mission expertise into working configurations on the platform. Here's roughly how the work breaks down:

  • Building (about 50%): Configuring agents, designing and evaluating workflows, and scripting in Python directly on the platform.
  • Engaging (about 30%): Mapping how analysts and operators actually work, running elicitation interviews with subject matter experts, and delivering hands-on training and coaching.
  • Documenting and feeding back (about 20%): Producing reusable workflow documentation and channeling user feedback on platform behavior back to the product and engineering teams.

You'll own the process of mapping current workflows before configuration begins, capturing institutional knowledge that has never been written down, and encoding it into working agents and workflows. Adoption is the core measure of success in this role, driven through direct training and coaching rather than a training deck handed off and forgotten.

You'll partner closely with the engineers on your team who own the underlying connectors, integrations, and infrastructure, while you focus on whether the output is actually correct for the mission, not just technically functional.

This is a client-site role, roughly 80-100% of the time, with periodic domestic and international travel to supported units. It is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.

What You Bring

  • 4+ years of direct experience as an analyst, operator, or targeteer in a relevant mission space
  • An active TS/SCI clearance
  • A demonstrated ability to become a power user of complex analytic tools and teach that expertise to experienced practitioners
  • Working Python proficiency, including scripting and data wrangling, with comfort reading and modifying code
  • Practical understanding of AI agent concepts, including prompting, workflow design, and evaluation, or a strong track record of picking up new technical tools quickly
  • Strong interviewing and listening skills, with experience drawing process knowledge out of subject matter experts
  • Clear, effective written communication
  • Willingness to work on-site in the Washington, DC Metro region, with periodic domestic and international travel

Nice to Have

  • Experience writing SOPs, tradecraft standards, or training curricula
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted or agentic analytic tooling
  • Advanced Python skills
  • An active professional network within your relevant analytic community
  • Experience supporting intelligence staff functions, including the targeting cycle
  • Experience across the intelligence cycle, from collection through finished production and targeting support
  • Familiarity with common DoD or intelligence community analytic and OSINT platforms

What's In It For You

  • Competitive salary of $170,000-$220,000
  • Full benefits package
  • Generous paid time off
  • A seat alongside a genuinely exceptional team, with real ownership over outcomes from day one

If you're ready to put your mission expertise to work in a whole new way, we'd love to hear from you.
