Receptionist - Law Firm / Legal Career Path
Job Description
Alpharetta, GA Law Firm| Full-Time
Want to get your foot in the door of a professional law firm and build a real career?
Our Alpharetta law firm is looking for an energetic, dependable Receptionist who is organized, professional, and ready to learn.
Legal experience is NOT required.
The Compensation Structure is a base salary, plus commission and bonus.
We are much more interested in finding someone who is sharp, hardworking, dependable, personable, and eager to advance. We can teach you the legal side. What we cannot teach is a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, attention to detail, and the desire to become excellent at what you do.
This is a position that is intended as advancement to a Paralegal Position for the right candidate. We are looking for someone who can start by becoming excellent at our front desk and administrative responsibilities and, if they demonstrate the ability and desire, grow into a Legal Assistant/Paralegal role.
What You'll Do
You will be an important part of the day-to-day operation of our firm, including:
- Answering and directing incoming telephone calls
- Greeting clients and visitors professionally
- Communicating with clients by phone and email
- Scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars
- Scanning, organizing, and maintaining documents
- Assisting with incoming and outgoing mail
- Entering and updating information in our case-management system
- Helping our legal team with administrative tasks
- Learning legal procedures and gradually taking on additional responsibilities
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
- Is dependable and comes to work ready to work
- Has an upbeat, professional personality
- Communicates well on the telephone
- Is comfortable speaking with clients and potential clients
- Is organized and pays attention to details
- Learns quickly and takes good notes
- Is comfortable with computers and learning new software
- Takes ownership of assignments rather than waiting to be told every next step
- Wants more than just a job and is interested in building a career
Previous receptionist, customer service, administrative, hospitality, medical office, banking, or other professional office experience can be helpful, but prior law firm experience is not necessary.
Opportunity to Advance
This is the most important part of the position.
We are willing to train the right person from the ground up.
Someone who proves that they are dependable, learns quickly, takes initiative, and can handle increasing responsibility will have the opportunity to learn the legal side of our practice and advance into a Legal Assistant/Paralegal position.
We believe in rewarding people who become valuable members of our team. The more you can learn and the more responsibility you can successfully handle, the more opportunity you will have to advance.
If you are looking for a place where you can work hard, learn, prove yourself, and build a professional career, we would like to hear from you.
