Senior Benefits Health Plan Analyst
Job Description
The Senior Benefits Health Plan Analyst provides expert consultation and leadership across benefits programs. This role manages complex projects involving plan design, analysis, compliance, vendor management, reporting, and employee communication. Serves as a key liaison with brokers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Manage a portfolio of benefit programs (medical, dental, wellness, life, disability).
Lead annual benefits renewal, planning, communication, and implementation.
Ensure compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, ACA, and contractual requirements.
Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and eligibility data feeds.
Research and resolve complex benefits issues and policy questions.
Lead governmental reporting (5500, 1095C, SFHCSO) in partnership with Payroll.
Write reports/queries, maintain documentation, and analyze benefits data.
Develop and distribute required notices and benefits communications.
Improve and automate processes to increase efficiency.
Lead/assist RFPs, benchmarking, and market analysis for new vendors/programs.
Analyze utilization trends to recommend cost‐effective plan designs.
Coordinate benefit rollouts and vendor implementations.
Support benefit strategies for union and non‐union groups.
Organize employee benefit meetings, fairs, and education sessions.
Collaborate on cross‐functional People initiatives.
Provide backup support to Benefits Specialists.
Travel as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
4+ years of experience in health benefits operations for 500+ participant plans.
Broker/consultant experience preferred.
CEBS or GBA certification preferred.
Advanced Excel/Word; HRIS reporting experience (Hubble, JD Edwards).
Strong knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, ACA.
Strong math, analytical, communication, and project‐management skills.
Ability to guide team workflow and build strong customer relationships.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
