Eastern is looking for an experienced, motivated Automotive Accessory Technician / Mechanic to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working on trucks, Jeeps, SUVs, and other specialty vehicles and takes pride in building, modifying, and maintaining vehicles. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience installing aftermarket accessories and suspension lift kits, wiring/electrical work and completing mechanical drivetrain repairs and maintenance. Mechanics are required to supply their own tools.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Install & service aftermarket suspension systems, including lift kits, leveling kits, and lowering kits.
- Diagnose and service vehicle drivetrain, suspension, steering, brakes and suspension components for related service work.
- Install a wide variety of aftermarket accessories including bumpers, side steps, fender flares, skid plates, hitches, bed covers, winches and other recovery gear, lighting, gears & axles, bolt-on engine performance upgrades, cat-back exhaust and more.
- Assist with mounting/balancing wheels and tires.
- Perform alignments and keep up with vehicle service/maintenance.
- Follow manufacturer installation instructions and proper torque specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and general mechanical repairs.
- Service and repair drivetrain components including differentials, axles, driveshafts, transfer cases, and related components.
- Assist with larger mechanical projects and specialty "show vehicle" builds.
Quality & Safety Expectations:
- Follow manufacturer specifications and recommended installation procedures.
- Properly torque all critical fasteners and document work when required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Protect customer vehicles during installation and repair.
- Looking for a self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team to complete tasks.
- Perform quality-control inspections before returning vehicles to customers.
- Identify potential safety concerns or additional repairs and communicate them to service advisor.
- Use shop equipment, lifts, tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and correctly.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
Qualifications
Required:
- Previous professional automotive technician or accessory installation experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to accurately read and follow installation instructions and technical information.
- Experience using common automotive hand and power tools.
- Ability to safely operate vehicle lifts and shop equipment.
- Basic electrical and wiring knowledge.
- Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
Preferred:
- Experience installing aftermarket suspension and lift kits.
- Experience working on early and late-model Jeeps, trucks, and SUVs.
- Experience with automotive electrical systems and accessory wiring.
- ASE certification or formal automotive training.
- Experience with welding or fabrication.
- Experience with drivetrain, differential, or transfer-case service.
- Personal experience building or modifying off-road vehicles.

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work underneath vehicles for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and maneuver automotive components, wheels, tires, and equipment.
- Ability to safely work with hand and power tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced automotive shop environment.
- Ability to safely perform tasks at varying heights and around vehicle lifts.
