About Us
Alpharetta Family Medicine is a physician-owned primary care clinic offering comprehensive family medicine alongside aesthetics, cosmetics, and wellness services. We pride ourselves on delivering personalized, high-quality care.
Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled medical assistant with a warm bedside manner to join our team. The ideal candidate is an expert at making blood draws quick, comfortable, and even pleasant — turning what many patients dread into a positive experience. Beyond venipuncture, this role supports day-to-day clinical operations, including rooming patients and taking vitals, as part of a close-knit care team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and blood collection with precision and patient comfort as top priorities
- Properly label, process, store, and prepare specimens for in-house testing or lab transport
- Handle blood, specimens, and other bodily fluids safely and professionally, following OSHA and infection-control standards
- Obtain and record accurate patient vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, height, weight, oxygen saturation)
- Room patients and assist with patient flow throughout the clinic day
- Maintain phlebotomy supplies, equipment, and draw station cleanliness
- Document collections and patient information accurately in the electronic health record
- Engage warmly with patients — especially anxious or needle-averse patients — to create a friendly, comfortable, and memorable clinic experience
- Support the clinical team with being able to answer phone calls, schedule patients for appointments, check patients out, etc.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current phlebotomy certification (CPT or equivalent from a recognized certifying body)
- Demonstrated venipuncture proficiency across a range of patients, including difficult draws
- Comfortable handling blood, specimens, and other bodily fluids
- Ability to take and record patient vital signs accurately
- Strong interpersonal skills with a genuinely friendly, patient-first attitude
- Reliability and punctuality for a consistent full-time schedule
Preferred:
- Bilingual Spanish/English
- Experience in a primary care, family medicine, or outpatient clinic setting
- Familiarity with electronic health records (Tebra/Kareo experience a plus)
- BLS/CPR certification
Schedule
- Full time: 4-5 days per week 9am-5:30pm with Lunch break at 1:00pm for 30 minutes
- Flexible PTO
- We have 1 full time provider and 1 part time provider on site.
- Patient load average 10-20 dependent on the day
