Assistant Teacher

Position Begins: Immediately after meeting requuirements

Schedule: Mon- Fri 8 am – 5 pm

Compensation: $17/ hour

Requirements

· 18 years/ older

· HS Diploma

· 2 years experience in childcare setting

Mandatory Training and Procedures

Accepting a offer to this position means you agree to participate training for the following certifications and to submit your fingerprints for a background check.

• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation CPR and First Aid
• Mandated Reporting (Child Abuse)
• Medicine Administration Training (MAT)
• Sexual Harassment
• Food Handling
• 5 hour health and safety e-learning course

Responsibilities

· Create and implement approved lesson plans

· Help maintain a clean, fun and safe learning environment (see center workflow)

· Communicate and meet with families about children’s development

· Establish and maintain positive relationships with staff members, students, families and visitors

· Engage students in hands on activities (indoors and outdoors)

· Model family style practices during meal times

· Implement routines that promote physical activity, rest, playtime, and healthy life practices

· Supervise and mentor volunteers and camp participants during summer months
