Hello! Shoreline Lake is seeking an Event & Catering Staff to join our team! You will be responsible for providing customers with a memorable dining experience.
Essential Skills and Qualities

Culinary and Food Safety Expertise:
Knowledge of recipes, food preparation techniques, and strict adherence to food handling and sanitation guidelines.

A friendly, service-oriented manner with the ability to resolve customer complaints and meet special requests.

Strong time management, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.

Physical Stamina:
The ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, and regularly lift objects weighing 35 to 50 pounds.

Flexibility to handle last-minute changes, weather issues, and unexpected challenges.
Additional Skills and Qualities:
• Communicate with clients to ensure top-notch experience.
• Work under Bistro Manager & Events Manager and may be given direction by Boathouse & Operations manager where other unlisted duties may be required.
• Take customer orders accurately & answer questions about food preparation.
• Prepare and present non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipe and presentation standards.
• Provide operational functions before, during, and after events.
• Assist with set up, take down, and preparation of events.
• Comply with health, safety, hygiene guidelines and regulations.
• Take initiative to advance your opportunities to train and assist with daily operations.
• Take food and beverage orders from guests.
• Answer questions about the business and direct inquiries to the appropriate individual.
• Maintain a professional appearance and communication with customers and other staff.
• Initiate communication with supervisor or manager when processes or tasks are unclear.
• Clearly communicate orders to kitchen staff to ensure accuracy of customer requests.
• Ensure impeccable cleanliness of dining areas and counters including bussing tables.
• Be accurate and ethical with cash handling and responsible for shortages.
• May cross-train to cashier at the Boathouse performing clerical duties and handle the register for retail, rentals & registration.
• Account for supplies and notify manager of restocking needs.
• Follow protocol as outlined in employee manual.
• Pass along knowledge and training to other staff.
• Refer comments or complaints to manager or supervisor.

Set up food stations, buffet tables, and beverage service areas according to event standards
Serve food and beverages to guests, providing excellent customer service.
Monitor food levels and replenish items as needed during the event.

Guest Interaction:
Greet guests and assist them with questions and special requests.
Ensure a positive and smooth guest experience from start to finish.

Cleanup and Breakdown:
Clear plates, silverware, and other service items after the event.
Thoroughly clean and restore the event space.
Pack and transport equipment and any leftover food as required.
Required Qualifications
Previous experience in the food service or hospitality industry is a significant asset.
CA Food handlers Card/Permit
