Administrative Assistant Secretary
Job Description
Performance-based bonus on top of salary. Work almost entirely remotely. Personality, conversation skills, drive/a good attitude and soft skills are most important. Must like dogs.
Attycus Law, PLLC is a solo law firm currently focusing entirely on estate planning (wills, trusts, medical directives, etc.) that has been growing at a good pace. I am in need of an administrative assistant/secretary to help me with the administrative side of the practice. You'll find that it is a very relaxed environment as long as the job is being done. Core responsibilities will include answering phone calls, taking messages, managing client intake, scheduling appointments and managing the calendar, following up with clients and potential clients, and keeping track of the status of cases. Once a week, I will need you to prepare client materials (folders of final documents) to go out to clients by mail and then make the trip to the USPS (or coordinate pickup by USPS). Other general administrative tasks are to be expected and are a part of the job.
No legal work or billing of clients will be expected of you.
Work will be almost entirely remote/from home other than approximately one day in the office a week to put together client materials and a trip to USPS the same day to send them out. You will be provided with a company laptop (including an extra monitor), a company phone, a headset, printer, etc. by the firm. You will need space in your home for this hardware.
Bonus of $50 per hiring client who leaves a 5-star review of your performance on survey sent to them (on top of salary). Estimate is 200 clients per year. You will be first point of contact - more happy clients = more bonus cash. After six months on the job, two weeks (10 business days) of paid time off (scheduled in advance), five paid personal days and five paid sick days per year. Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day off.
High school education or GED required. As this is a law office, a successful candidate must pass a background check and drug test. Experience as an administrative assistant/secretary in the legal field is a plus but, depending on candidate, not a requirement. Must be able to capably use a computer, smartphone, printer and the internet. Must have familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel and Microsoft Outlook. Familiarity with Zoom a bonus. Familiarity with MyCase a massive bonus but not required.
