We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and highly organized Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations on commercial construction projects. The Superintendent will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors and suppliers, maintaining project schedules, ensuring quality workmanship, enforcing safety requirements, and keeping projects moving toward successful completion.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction professional who can take ownership of a project, communicate effectively with the project manager and subcontractors, identify problems before they become costly issues, and maintain a professional jobsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on commercial projects.
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
- Maintain the project schedule and coordinate upcoming work with subcontractors.
- Conduct daily jobsite inspections and monitor progress.
- Coordinate deliveries, material staging, equipment, and manpower.
- Review plans, specifications, shop drawings, and project documents.
- Identify conflicts, discrepancies, and potential delays and communicate them promptly.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to maintain schedule and budget objectives.
- Ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, applicable codes, and company standards.
- Monitor workmanship and maintain a high standard of quality throughout the project.
- Enforce company and OSHA safety requirements and maintain a clean, organized jobsite.
- Conduct and/or participate in subcontractor coordination and project meetings.
- Maintain daily reports, photographs, schedules, manpower reports, and other required documentation.
- Coordinate inspections with building officials and other applicable authorities.
- Assist with punch-list completion, final inspections, and project closeout.
- Communicate professionally with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Anticipate construction issues and develop practical solutions to keep the project moving.
- Maintain a professional relationship with clients and represent the company positively in the field.
