Duties

  • Manage and process accounts payable and accounts receivable using leading accounting software such as QuickBooks, and other financial systems.
  • Perform detailed bank reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Prepare and record journal entries, handle double-entry bookkeeping, and maintain the integrity of financial data across multiple accounting platforms.
  • Conduct payroll processing, including tax calculations and deductions, ensuring timely payments aligned with governmental regulations.
  • Reconcile accounts through meticulous account analysis, monitor account reconciliation processes, and perform month-end closing activities.
  • Assist with governmental and non-profit accounting procedures, ensuring adherence to specific standards and reporting requirements.
  • Support budgeting processes by analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and assisting with financial planning initiatives.
  • Utilize advanced spreadsheet skills for data analysis, report generation, and maintaining detailed records of all financial transactions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles with familiarity in QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, similar financial software.
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards such as GAAP and governmental accounting principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation accurately.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing procedures along with experience in accounts payable and receivable management.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), including formulas like debits & credits, account analysis, budgeting tools, and 10-key typing skills for data entry accuracy.
  • Experience working within public accounting or non-profit sectors is a plus.
  • Familiarity with technical accounting concepts such as general ledger accounting, account analysis, and financial software integration.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy under deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and external auditors or vendors.
