MACHINE OPERATOR I – 1ST SHIFT HOLG
Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Pay Rate: $19.50–$20.00/hour
Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Machine Operator I to support manufacturing and laboratory operations. This is a great opportunity for candidates with a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and basic computer and math skills.
The Machine Operator will perform manual manufacturing tasks, assist with filling equipment, handle materials, maintain accurate records, and follow established manufacturing and safety procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Weigh, measure, and verify raw materials and parts.
- Perform manual manufacturing and production tasks.
- Assist with operating basic to fully automated filling equipment.
- Use basic laboratory equipment, including scales, balances, pipettes, luminometers, and similar equipment.
- Follow and promote a safe work environment.
- Maintain accurate and complete training records.
- Understand and follow written procedures, manufacturing records, and production logs.
- Perform housekeeping and cleaning of manufacturing/laboratory areas.
- Assist with material handling and stocking of laboratory supplies.
- Complete assigned daily laboratory and production responsibilities.
- Perform other related duties as reasonably required by business needs.
Physical Requirements
- Sit and use hands to finger, handle, and feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lift, move, and carry products weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Work around moving mechanical parts, vibration, and moderate noise levels.
- Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals or other materials.
- Safety shoes with impact and compression protection are required.
- Potential exposure to blood and blood-borne pathogens.
- Position involves periods of sedentary work and sitting for extended periods.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1–2 years of related experience preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
- Basic knowledge of QSR and ISO requirements.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic understanding of record keeping and mathematics.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory practices, procedures, techniques, instruments, and equipment.
- Knowledge of current GMP requirements.
- Blood Borne Pathogen training preferred/required as applicable.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good time-management skills.
- Willingness and ability to learn new processes and equipment.
- Dependable and safety-conscious work habits.
