General Manager -- Automotive Repair Shop

Starting Salary: $60,000 during initial 60-day performance period
Salary after successful initial period: $75,000/year + $20,000+ performance bonus opportunity

Shiloh’s Auto Repair is seeking an experienced, driven General Manager to lead the operation and growth of our Cleveland automotive repair facility.

This is not a position for someone who simply wants to maintain an existing shop. We are building a high-volume automotive repair operation centered around fast turnaround, strong customer service, accurate diagnostics, technician productivity, and aggressive growth.

The General Manager will have significant responsibility and authority over day-to-day shop operations and will work directly with ownership to build the systems, staff, and partnerships necessary to grow the company.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, hire, train, schedule, and manage automotive technicians and support staff
• Keep all service bays and lifts productive and revenue-generating
• Dispatch work according to technician skill level, parts availability, repair complexity, and promised completion times
• Monitor technician productivity, labor hours, comeback rates, and overall shop performance
• Maintain proper staffing levels as customer volume increases
• Establish operating procedures for diagnostics, estimates, repair authorization, quality control, and vehicle delivery
• Ensure customers receive professional communication and timely updates
• Manage parts ordering, vendor relationships, workflow, and repair turnaround
• Build and maintain relationships with extended-warranty companies, fleet accounts, dealerships, and other referral partners
• Lead the process of obtaining and maintaining applicable shop certifications and programs, including pursuing AAA Approved Auto Repair eligibility
• Develop systems for handling warranty and third-party repair claims
• Maintain a clean, organized, professional, and safe repair facility
• Track revenue, labor productivity, expenses, and shop KPIs
• Identify problems before they affect production and implement solutions
• Develop technicians and future managers as the company expands
• Work directly with ownership on additional locations and company growth

Who We're Looking For

The strongest candidate will have substantial automotive repair management experience and a working understanding of automotive repair.

We especially want someone who has previously managed technicians, understands service-bay economics, can read shop numbers, knows how to increase production without sacrificing repair quality, and can build a team rather than merely supervise one.

Preferred experience includes:

• Automotive shop management or service management
• Technician hiring and development
• Service writing/estimating
• Shop management software
• Automotive diagnostics and repair knowledge
• Labor-hour and technician-productivity management
• Parts/vendor management
• Extended-warranty claims
• Fleet or dealership repair accounts
• ASE-certified personnel/program requirements
• AAA Approved Auto Repair or similar automotive programs

Compensation

Initial 60-day performance period: $60,000 annualized salary.

Upon successful completion: $75,000 annual salary.

Performance bonuses: $20,000+ annual opportunity based on measurable results.

Bonus categories may include technician staffing and retention, bay/lift productivity, revenue and profitability targets, customer satisfaction, successful qualification and maintenance of approved repair programs, warranty/fleet account development, operational compliance, and expansion milestones.
