About the Role:
South Bellingham Veterinary Hospital is looking for a passionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team in Bellingham, MA! Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Collect and process laboratory samples including blood, urine, and tissue specimens
- Monitor and care for patients during anesthesia and post-operative recovery
- Take and develop digital radiographs (X-rays) following safety protocols
- Educate and communicate with pet owners regarding treatment plans and home care instructions
- Maintain accurate patient medical records and documentation
- Ensure exam rooms, surgical suites, and equipment are clean and properly sterilized
Requirements:
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology or related field
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting preferred
- Proficiency in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring
- Strong knowledge of animal handling, restraint techniques, and patient safety
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, client-focused demeanor
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- Genuine love for animals and commitment to high-quality veterinary care
