About This Role

As a childcare professional, you will be responsible for providing care and supervision to children in various settings, including schools, businesses, private households, and childcare institutions. Your duties will include performing tasks such as dressing, feeding, bathing, and overseeing play to ensure the children's physical and emotional well-being.



What You'll Do

  • Assist children in developing positive self-concepts and understanding of others through emotional and social support.
  • Provide childcare services in institutional settings, such as group homes, nursery schools, private businesses, or schools for the handicapped.
  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene by sanitizing toys and play equipment.
  • Develop and implement disciplinary measures, such as teaching children to care for their clothing and pick up toys and books, to promote positive behavior.
  • Monitor children's behavior and identify potential emotional or developmental problems, recommending intervention to parents or guardians.
  • Supervise children's play activities and maintain a safe and organized environment.
  • Keep accurate records of children's daily activities, meals, and medications.
  • Teach children essential life skills, such as health and personal habits, including eating, resting, and toilet habits.
  • Engage children in educational activities, such as reading, painting, drawing, handicrafts, and singing.
  • Maintain a well-organized activity area by storing toys and materials in a designated and accessible manner.
  • Operate in-house day-care centers within businesses to provide convenient care options for working parents.
