RN Inpatient Surgical Unit

A 523-bed acute care hospital in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for its inpatient medical-surgical unit. The facility is fully accredited by the Joint Commission, certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, and holds an Accredited Chest Pain Center designation by the American College of Cardiology, along with Blue Distinction Center designations for Spine Surgery and Bariatric Surgery.

The role. In this inpatient surgical nursing role, you will provide direct patient care within a med-surg unit operating at a 7:1 nurse-to-patient ratio. You will assess, plan, and deliver individualized care for post-surgical and acute care patients across a service line that includes cardiovascular care, oncology, orthopedics, neurosciences, minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery, bariatric surgery, and women's health. You will monitor patient responses to treatment, coordinate with the interdisciplinary care team, and apply evidence-based practice to support safe, effective outcomes throughout each patient's stay.

What we're looking for.

• 1 year of RN experience required (open to any setting, for example: LTAC, Home Health, etc.)
• Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred
• BLS (AHA Healthcare Provider) required prior to start
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Schedule. Nights with rotating weekends.
