About This Role

The Teacher is responsible for leading a cohesive teaching team, creating a stimulating learning environment, and ensuring the well-being of children in their care. A successful Teacher will be skilled in understanding child development, communicating effectively, and working collaboratively with others to provide a high-quality educational experience. They must be able to establish and maintain a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment where children can thrive and succeed.



What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement educational curriculum based on early learning standards, ensuring that activities are developmentally appropriate and engaging for children.
  • Mentor and guide the teaching team to achieve success, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Plan and lead individual and group activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth in children.
  • Build strong relationships with parents through regular communication, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with center policies and state regulations, maintaining a safe and healthy classroom environment.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers, ensuring they follow planned activities and safety standards.
  • Manage accurate records, forms, and files, maintaining a high level of organizational efficiency.
  • Develop a personal professional development plan to enhance quality improvement and stay up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education.
  • Be adaptable and flexible, as responsibilities may vary based on center needs.


Requirements

  • Infant/Toddler or Preschool CDA certification or currently pursuing it.
  • At least 2 years of professional child care experience, with a strong track record of success.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as basic computer skills.
  • A high level of energy and ability to work well with diverse groups, including staff, children, and parents, to foster a positive team environment.
  • Deep understanding of child development principles and practices.
  • Outstanding leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Pass a full background check and health screening.
