PALFINGER North America
Minneapolis, MN, US Full Time
45USD - 54USD per hour

Job Description

Job Description
Bring lifting technology to life across the Twin Cities

Imagine starting your day in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN, with a full slate of service calls lined up. As one of two remote Field Service professionals on our team, you’ll be the trusted expert customers call when their truck‑mounted equipment needs swift, skilled attention. You’ll report to the Regional Service Manager and operate with a high degree of autonomy—diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mission‑critical lifting systems that keep businesses moving.

What a typical week can look like
  • Head directly to customer sites to troubleshoot and repair articulating cranes, truck‑mounted forklifts, conveyors, trucks, and trailers—making sound, independent decisions on the spot.
  • Complete quarterly preventive maintenance according to customer schedules, perform Annual DOT inspections, and handle warranty service with care and precision.
  • Respond to urgent, unscheduled issues during regular and after‑hours windows when needed—restoring uptime quickly and safely.
  • Explain findings and recommended fixes clearly to job‑site contacts and fleet managers, earning trust at every stop.
  • Create thorough service records—estimates, work authorizations, parts ordering and tracking, labor time, and inventory documentation—promptly and accurately.
  • Follow all state and federal safety regulations and leave every worksite and company vehicle clean, organized, and inspection‑ready.
What you bring
  • Depth in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, plus strong diagnostics and welding capability.
  • Endurance for field work: all‑weather conditions; ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift 75+ lbs for extended periods.
  • At least 3 years of hands‑on mechanical experience or training, ideally with articulating cranes and forklifts.
  • English fluency in speaking, reading, and writing.
  • CDL driver’s license at hire or within 60 days.
  • Your own hand tools; PALFINGER provides proprietary tools.
Pay and benefits
  • Competitive hourly pay: $45–$54 (DOE).
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and short‑/long‑term disability (state dependent), plus a wellness program.
  • Paid company holidays and PTO.
  • Continuous learning and clear growth pathways.
