Unit: NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
Location: San Luis Obispo, CA
Address: 1010 Murray Ave, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405
Duration: 8 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift (Auto Offer, Epic Backfill)
Hours: 36–40 Hours/Week (typical)
Pay Rate: $58 – $60/hr
Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,320 – $2,400/week (40 hrs)
Job Summary
RN II – NICU provides specialized nursing care for critically ill and stable newborns in a Level III NICU setting. Responsible for neonatal assessment, medication administration, ventilator support, care planning, family education, and coordination of multidisciplinary care for neonates ranging from micro-preemies to full-term infants.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years NICU experience (Required)
Experience with neonatal resuscitation and deliveries (Preferred)
Experience with neonatal transport (Preferred)
Strong clinical judgment in high-acuity neonatal care
Ability to manage ventilated and critically ill neonates
Experience with family-centered care and education in NICU setting
Required Credentials
Active California RN License
BLS Certification (Required)
PALS Certification (Required)
NRP Certification (Required)
Preferred Credentials
RNC Certification
CCRN Certification (Neonatal)
Neonatal transport experience
Setting
Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Acute care hospital environment
Cross-training/float to Pediatrics may be required
Floating Requirement
May float to Pediatrics unit as needed
