Job Description
Northwest Home for the Aged d/b/a Park Plaza is seeking a Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff.
Position SummaryAs a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for performing daily cleaning and sanitation tasks to ensure guest and resident spaces are maintained to a high standard. You’ll help support a comfortable living environment through consistent attention to detail and safe work practices.
This is a full-time, onsite role in Chicago, IL, where your reliability and commitment to cleanliness will directly impact the quality of everyday life in the community.
Key ResponsibilitiesClean assigned resident apartments according to Park Plaza standards
Clean and sanitize bathrooms and kitchen areas
Dust, vacuum, sweep, and mop assigned spaces
Empty trash and replace liners
Clean mirrors, surfaces, and high-touch areas
Maintain resident privacy and treat personal belongings with care
Clean and maintain hallways, common areas, dining spaces, activity areas, offices, and public restrooms
Participate in scheduled deep-cleaning projects
Assist with vacant apartment, move-in, and move-out cleaning as assigned
Maintain cleaning carts, supplies, and equipment
Follow appropriate sanitation and safety procedures
Report maintenance, safety, or sanitation concerns
Communicate incomplete assignments or resident concerns to the Head Housekeeper
Participate in training and department meetings
Assist teammates with reasonable coverage needs
Provide courteous and respectful service to residents at all times
Ability to perform routine cleaning tasks with attention to detail and consistency.
Commitment to following established cleaning protocols, safety guidelines, and infection-control procedures.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift as needed to complete housekeeping duties.
Basic communication skills to interact professionally with residents and team members.
Dependability and punctuality in a full-time onsite setting.
Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience in residential, hospitality, or healthcare environments.
Familiarity with infection-control practices and safe handling of cleaning supplies.
Experience working independently while maintaining quality standards.
Experience handling laundry and maintaining cleanliness in shared spaces.
Schedule
Park Plaza's Housekeeping Department operates seven days per week. Full-time employees work five days per week and may be assigned to schedules such as:
Sunday–Thursday
Monday–Friday
Tuesday–Saturday
Typical shifts are 8:00 AM–4:00 PM or 10:00 AM–6:00 PM, based on departmental needs.
Employees scheduled on Fridays assist with preparing the building for Shabbat. Saturday assignments focus primarily on common areas, sanitation, equipment care, and preparation for the upcoming week rather than routine resident apartment cleaning
CompensationHourly rate: $20
