Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating nursing functions in accordance with state and federal regulations.

  • Supervise nursing personnel and ensure compliance with facility policies and procedures.

  • Participate in regulatory surveys and inspections.

  • Develop and update resident care plans collaboratively.

  • Conduct annual evaluations for LPNs and CNAs; manage disciplinary actions and participate in hiring and terminations.

  • Communicate with physicians, families, and administration regarding resident care and concerns.

  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained for quality care delivery.

  • Conduct rounds to monitor staff performance and adherence to nursing standards.

  • Address and report staff grievances or complaints.

  • Welcome and support newly admitted residents.

  • Participate in daily meetings and quality assurance initiatives.

  • Oversee medication passes, treatments, and provide direct nursing care as needed.

  • Complete audits and assist with MDS documentation.

  • Ensure accurate charting, emergency preparedness, and compliance with narcotic handling procedures.

  • Manage supply inventory and room readiness for admissions.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Current, active RN license in the State of New York (unencumbered).

  • Excellent communication skills in English.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making abilities.

  • Knowledge of nursing standards, regulations, and best practices.

  • Ability to supervise, motivate, and support nursing staff effectively.
