Material Handler/Parts Sorter - 1st shift

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Job Description:

Our client, a fast-paced and growing metal fabrication company, is seeking to hire a parts sorter for the 1st shift (5:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.). The position will involve sorting parts, operating a forklift, and eventually assisting laser operators. A parts sorter must be a dependable self-starter who can work with minimal supervision. Must be a safety-conscious worker.

Responsibilities:

• Sort through parts and have experience driving a forklift.
• Perform proper maintenance and cleaning of the equipment.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

• Must have high school / GED.
• Must have the ability to read/write and understand both verbal and written work instructions, work orders and customer specifications.
• Basic math and measurement skills (addition, subtraction, decimal and fraction conversions); able to accurately read a tape measure, caliper and height gage.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience operating a forklift is preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL, ENVIRONMENTAL, COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS

• Medium work that includes moving/lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to continuously stand for all or most of a regular work shift, reach above shoulders, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

• Manufacturing: 1 year (Preferred)
