Counselor (Part-Time, 24 Hours/Week, On-Site)Location: [Insert Location – Safe Haven Shelter / Norristown, PASchedule: Part-Time (24 hours per week, on-site)FLSA Status: Non-ExemptReports to: Director of CounselingAbout the RoleWe are seeking a compassionate and skilled Counselor to provide trauma-informed, client-centered support to individuals impacted by domestic violence. This role will deliver on-site counseling services, helping clients process experiences, build coping strategies, and support their overall emotional well-being.This is a meaningful opportunity to make a direct impact while working in a mission-driven, collaborative environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide individual counseling services to clients impacted by domestic violenceUtilize trauma-informed and empowerment-based approaches in all interactionsConduct assessments, safety planning, and goal setting with clientsMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and case notesCollaborate with advocates, case managers, and multidisciplinary teamsParticipate in case review meetings and supervisionProvide crisis intervention and emotional support as neededMaintain strict confidentiality and ethical standardsAssist with referrals to community resources and additional supportsQualificationsMaster's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field requiredActive license (LPC, LSW, LCSW, or equivalent) preferred (or working toward licensure, if applicable)Experience providing counseling services, preferably in a domestic violence or trauma-informed settingStrong understanding of trauma, crisis intervention, and safety planningExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively within a teamExperience working with diverse and underserved populationsProficiency in documentation and basic computer systemsSchedule & Work EnvironmentPart-time: 24 hours per weekOn-site position (no remote work)Some flexibility may be required based on client and program needsWhy Join Us?Make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and familiesBe part of a supportive, mission-driven teamOpportunity to grow your experience in trauma-informed care and advocacyHow to ApplySubmit your resume and cover letter through Indeed or at www.laurelhouse.orgEqual Employment Opportunity StatementWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and are committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace.
