About This Role

The Teacher Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Teachers and the Director by fostering a nurturing environment for the children and collaborating on activities to enhance the overall care and quality of education.

In this role, the Teacher Assistant must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities include assisting staff in implementing a quality educational program and developing positive relationships with the children and their parents.

Additionally, the Teacher Assistant observes and documents children's interests and progress, relaying this information to parents and staff, and implements developmentally appropriate activities based on children's needs and interests under the direction of the Teacher and the Director.



What You'll Do

  • Manage classroom materials, maintain cleanliness, and ensure availability, while actively engaging in activities.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
  • Model good hygiene and self-help skills to encourage their development in the children.
  • Facilitate a smooth transition from home to child care center on a daily basis.
  • Comply with all center policies and state regulations.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development to enhance continuous quality improvement.


Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma
  • Show high energy levels.
  • Have the ability to work well with others.
  • Be available to work Monday through Friday only.
  • Commit to a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.
  • possess strong oral and written communication skills as well as basic computer skills.
  • Have an understanding of child development.
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Possess Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Be able to clear a full background check and pass a health screening.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and grow with our team.

Previous experience in a childcare setting is a plus, but not required.
