About This Role

The Teacher Assistant plays a vital role in creating a nurturing and secure environment for children, working collaboratively with Teachers and the Director to deliver high-quality care and education. Effective communication, active listening, and teamwork are essential for this position, as the Teacher Assistant will be responsible for observing and documenting children’s progress, and sharing this information with parents and staff. Under the direction of the Teacher and Director, the Teacher Assistant will design and implement activities tailored to children’s interests and needs, promoting their cognitive, social, and emotional development.



What You'll Do

  • Support the development of engaging curricula activities and encourage children to participate enthusiastically.
  • Ensure a clean, well-maintained, and organized classroom environment, with materials readily available for children to access.
  • Regularly communicate with parents through informal discussions and progress reports to keep them informed about their child’s development.
  • Model good hygiene and self-help skills, and promote these habits in children.
  • Facilitate a smooth daily transition from home to the child care center, ensuring a seamless experience for children and families.
  • Adhere to all center policies and state regulations at all times.
  • Develop a personal professional development plan to continuously improve the quality of care and education provided.


Requirements

  • At least 1-2 years of professional experience in childcare.
  • A high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as basic computer proficiency.
  • Understanding of child development principles.
  • Outstanding leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • CPR and First Aid certification for infants and children.
  • Pass a comprehensive background check and a health screening.
