The City of Hapeville is looking for responsible Police Officers to maintain law and order, protect members of the public and their properties, prevent crime and improve citizens' quality of life. The goal is to achieve community safety and crime reduction.Starting Pay:Certified Police Officer: $59,929.75Non-Certified Police Officer- $58,431.51Reserve Police Officer- $30.00 Hour ResponsibilitiesDeter crimes and assure community through high-visibility policingPatrol assigned areas and monitor activities to protect people/propertyInvestigate crimes and apprehend suspected law violatorsObserve and respond to various situations or emergenciesFollow rules, guidelines and protocolsConduct initial investigationsGather evidence and ensure successful prosecutionsProduce internal reports and provide feedback on case statusDeal with case paperwork and administrative proceduresFoster good public relationships and liaise with community groups or individualsCoordinate operations with other emergency servicesAttend and provide evidence in courtSkillsProven working experience in law enforcementProficiency in using police equipmentExcellent knowledge of standard operating procedures, judicial procedures, civil and constitutional lawsWorking knowledge of interrogation techniques and scene managementKnowledge and skills of law enforcement principles and practicesAdequate interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to build effective working relationshipsSound judgement along with effective decision making skillsConflict resolutions and problem solving skillsResponsibility, dependability, honesty and integrityWilling to submit to extensive medical and criminal background checksValid driving licenseHigh school degree; BS degree in police science or related field is desirableThe City of Hapeville, Georgia, is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
