About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at White Hall Rehab and Nursing Center. As a key member of our Dietary department, the Cook will play a vital role in preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents and patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately and efficiently cooking an assortment of meals, preparing and portioning food products, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately and efficiently cook an assortment of meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking
• Prepare and plate food products, including garnishing and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates
• Act as a liaison for the Dietary Manager in their absence to ensure accurate meal prep and delivery
• Follow and prepare standardized recipes
• Clean the kitchen before and after food service, as well as clean all kitchen equipment before and after use
• Manage inventory, purchasing, and rotation of stock
• Develop and maintain recipes to ensure compliance with dietary requirements
• Handle last-minute requests for special events and provide exceptional customer service to our residents and patients

Requirements:

• Classic culinary training and experience in a high-volume environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
• High school diploma or equivalent required
