The Goddard School of Flemington is seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable After School Assistant Teacher to join our Universal Pre-K Aftercare Program.

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys working with preschool-aged children in a fun, nurturing, and engaging environment. The After School Assistant will help provide a safe and enriching aftercare experience by supporting children's social, emotional, and developmental growth through hands-on activities, outdoor play, and meaningful interactions.

What You'll Do

As an After School Assistant Teacher, you will:

  • Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for preschool children.
  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Assist with planned enrichment activities, games, art projects, and learning experiences.
  • Support children's social-emotional development and positive behavior.
  • Help children transition from the school day into the aftercare program.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
  • Follow all New Jersey childcare licensing regulations and school policies.
  • Assist with classroom closing duties as needed.


Requirements

  • Experience working with young children in a childcare, preschool, or educational setting preferred
  • Passion for early childhood education
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable, patient, and nurturing personality
  • Ability to actively supervise children and engage in classroom activities
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently stand, bend, kneel, and sit throughout the shift

Preferred:

  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, or a related field
