Hire Type: Direct Hire
Pay Range: $74,000–$88,000/year
Work Model: 100% Onsite
Schedule: Monday – Friday, approximately 3:15 PM–11:45 PM

This is a salaried, non-remote position. The current second-shift team is approximately 11 assembly technicians. Rotating Saturday coverage may be required, typically for approximately six hours and roughly one Saturday per month or less.

Positional Overview
Our client is seeking a 2nd Shift Manufacturing Supervisor to lead manufacturing teammates in a highly customized production environment. The supervisor is responsible for meeting production targets and quality standards while ensuring manufacturing processes operate safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
The role combines hands-on floor leadership with administrative and systems responsibilities. The supervisor will oversee assembly technicians, manage staffing and workflow, coach and develop team members, address performance issues, and coordinate the handoff and flow of work across shifts.
Candidates should be comfortable working with ERP systems, spreadsheets, reports, and other business applications in addition to maintaining a visible leadership presence on the manufacturing floor.
Role & Responsibility:
Tasks That Will Lead To Your Success
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of second-shift manufacturing teammates, including task assignments and adherence to production schedules.
  • Coach, develop, and cross-train team members while setting clear performance expectations and providing ongoing feedback.
  • Develop standard work and ensure employees are properly trained and consistently follow established processes.
  • Address performance and personnel issues, including formal coaching and disciplinary action when necessary, in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Participate actively in problem solving and respond to operational issues as they arise on the manufacturing floor.
  • Assist with production schedules, workflow plans, staffing levels, and re-promise dates to support on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate with first-shift leadership and other departments to ensure an effective handoff and continuity of production.
  • Lead lean manufacturing practices including 5S, Daily Management, Visual Management, and variation-reduction techniques.
  • Use ERP systems, spreadsheets, and reports to monitor operations, labor, staffing, and production activity.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with the union and follow the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Support payroll-related activities, time-off requests, training records, customer complaint feedback, and required manufacturing documentation.
Required Experience
  • Prior experience leading teams or supervising employees in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong people-management skills with the ability to coach, hold employees accountable, and address issues directly.
  • Manufacturing aptitude and the ability to learn a highly customized engineered product environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including comfort with ERP systems, spreadsheets, reporting, and Microsoft Office/Office 365 applications.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce.
  • Strong sense of urgency with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering, or equivalent applicable experience.
  • Ability to meet U.S. export control requirements (ITAR/EAR) for access to technical data.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supervising assembly technicians or similar skilled manufacturing employees.
  • Experience working in a union manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, 5S, visual management, continuous improvement, and production performance metrics.
  • Experience with custom-engineered, aerospace, or other technical manufacturing products.
Team & Environment
  • Leads the second-shift assembly team, currently approximately 11 employees.
  • Works closely with production leadership, first-shift supervision, Human Resources, engineering, quality, and supporting departments.
  • Onsite manufacturing environment with direct responsibility for floor leadership as well as ERP/reporting responsibilities.
  • Rotating Saturday overtime coverage is shared among supervisors.
