We are seeking an experienced, innovative, and results-driven EMS Training Director to lead our multi-state training and professional development programs. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned EMS leader who is passionate about developing people, improving performance, and building a culture of continuous learning.


Position Summary


The EMS Training Director is responsible for the strategic leadership, development, implementation, and oversight of all EMS education, orientation, onboarding, continuing education, and professional development initiatives across KQTHealth's operating regions.


This leader will oversee a geographically dispersed training team, standardize educational programs across multiple jurisdictions, leverage technology to enhance learning, and partner with operational leaders to ensure training programs support organizational goals and regulatory requirements.


The ideal candidate is an experienced EMS professional with exceptional leadership, instructional, and organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-state environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the organization's EMS Training Department across Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Washington, DC.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive training strategy that supports organizational growth and clinical excellence.

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve orientation and onboarding programs for EMTs, Paramedics, Ambulance Operators, and other clinical personnel.

  • Oversee continuing education programs to maintain provider certifications and promote professional development.

  • Coordinate and facilitate monthly educational workshops, skills sessions, and competency assessments.

  • Evaluate existing training programs through data analysis, operational feedback, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Develop innovative training solutions that improve employee performance, engagement, and retention.

  • Utilize learning technologies, simulation, and digital platforms to enhance educational delivery and accessibility.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state EMS regulations and accreditation requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Collaborate with Operations, Clinical Services, Human Resources, Quality, Safety, and Leadership teams to identify training needs and develop effective solutions.

  • Build standardized training processes while allowing for jurisdiction-specific regulatory requirements.

  • Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop EMS instructors, preparing them to independently deliver high-quality education.

  • Establish instructor performance expectations and foster continuous professional growth within the training team.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining consistency across all service areas.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.


Qualifications

Required

  • Extensive knowledge of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) industry.

  • Significant experience working with EMTs, Paramedics, Ambulance Operators, and EMS agencies.

  • Proven experience leading EMS education, training, or workforce development programs.

  • Experience managing teams across multiple geographic locations.

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional methodologies.

  • Experience developing orientation, onboarding, continuing education, and competency programs.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze program effectiveness and implement measurable improvements.

  • Excellent leadership, coaching, mentoring, and communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.

  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and organizational levels.

  • Willingness to travel throughout Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Washington, DC.


Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Healthcare Administration, EMS, or a related field.

  • Current or previous Paramedic certification.

  • EMS Instructor certification or equivalent educational credential.

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and technology-based training platforms.

  • Experience with quality improvement, accreditation, or clinical education initiatives.
