About This Role
We are looking for an energetic and organized individual to teach music to our students ages 2 1/2 years through K5. The position works on Mondays from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 am - 1:00 pm with classes every 30 - 45 minutes on Tuesday and Thursday. The music teacher is also responsible for collaborating with the Director and Resource Supervisor to plan and execute the Christmas end of year programs.
What You'll Do
Plan and execute age appropriate music activities for 2 1/2 year olds through K5
Follow VA SOL's for music for K5
Plan and direct a program in December for Christmas and in May for the end of the year
Plan and execute Chapel using the curriculum provided
Provide weekly lesson plans
Other duties as needed
Requirements
Experience teaching music to children
Ability to write and execute lesson plans
Experience with planning and executing programs for preschool and elementary students
Must be able to pass background checks
