Inventory Specialist Summary:The Warehouse / Inventory Forklift Operator is responsible for supporting warehouse and inventory operations in a manufacturing environment. This position involves safely operating forklifts, maintaining accurate inventory records, utilizing MRP systems, and ensuring the efficient movement of materials to support production and shipping requirements.
Inventory Specialist Pay Rate:$18.50-$19.50/hr.
Inventory Specialist HoursMonday - Friday, day shift. 8am Start. Must be available to work until at least 4:30 PM daily.
Inventory Specialist Duties & Responsibilities- Safely operate forklifts to move, load, unload, store, and stage materials throughout the facility.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts and inventory audits.
- Receive incoming materials and verify quantities against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Issue and distribute materials to production departments as needed.
- Utilize MRP systems to track inventory transactions and material movement.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies.
- Load and unload trucks while ensuring materials are handled safely and efficiently.
- Stage finished goods for shipment and assist with shipping and receiving activities.
- Maintain organized warehouse storage locations and ensure proper material identification.
- Follow all company safety policies and standard operating procedures.
- Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, production personnel, and shipping staff.
- Perform daily forklift inspections and report maintenance concerns.
- Keep warehouse and work areas clean, orderly, and safe.
- Assist with other warehouse, inventory, and logistics duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 2 years of inventory and/or warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Current forklift certification required.
- Experience using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems.
- Ability to work until at least 4:30 PM daily.
- Ability to communicate, read, write, and understand English.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
