Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, highly skilled, and engaging Vocal Instructor & Coach to join our Music Lesson Faculty. This position involves providing weekly, one-on-one private voice lessons to students across our Lower School, Middle School, and Upper School.

The ideal candidate combines a strong background in musical theater performance with deep expertise in vocal pedagogy and interpretation, alongside a versatile foundation in modern and contemporary vocal styles. We welcome an instructor who can inspire young beginners while rigorously preparing middle and upper school students for auditions and performances, as well as the Music Lesson Recital in May 2027.

Key Responsibilities
  • Private Instruction: Deliver weekly 45-minute individual voice lessons to a diverse roster of students.

  • Vocal Technique & Pedagogy: Teach healthy vocal mechanics, breath support, pitch accuracy, posture, vocal health, and age-appropriate vocal placement tailored to each student’s developmental stage.

  • Repertoire Selection: Select and assign engaging, age-appropriate repertoire spanning musical theater, classical, pop, jazz, etc.

  • Recital Performance: Prepare students for the Music Lesson Recital in May 2027.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Vocal Performance, Vocal Pedagogy, Musical Theater, or a related field.

  • Performance Experience: Proven professional or high-level regional background in Musical Theater, with demonstrated versatility in other vocal genres.

  • Technical Skills: Functional piano accompaniment skills

  • Clearances: Ability to pass standard NJ State background checks

Compensation
