HVAC Business Operations DirectorPro-Tech Air Conditioning & Heating Santa Fe, NM Compensation: $85,000-$120,000 annually, based on experienceLead the Next Stage of GrowthPro-Tech Air Conditioning & Heating is a locally owned HVAC company serving the Santa Fe community with a strong focus on quality workmanship, dependable service, and customer care.We are seeking an experienced HVAC Business Operations Director to take ownership of the day-to-day performance of the company and help strengthen the systems, people, and processes needed for continued growth.This is a senior leadership position for someone who understands how a successful service business operates. You will work closely with ownership while leading both field and office operations, improving productivity, developing employees, monitoring financial performance, and ensuring customers consistently receive a high level of service.Direct HVAC experience is highly desirable, but we will also consider accomplished leaders from construction, plumbing, electrical, home services, or similar field-service organizations.What You'll Be Responsible ForProvide leadership and direction across HVAC service, installation, and office operationsManage and develop technicians, installers, administrative staff, and other team membersEstablish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards throughout the organizationImprove technician scheduling, dispatch efficiency, job flow, and workforce productivityTrack company performance through revenue, gross margin, labor utilization, callbacks, customer satisfaction, and other key metricsIdentify operational bottlenecks and implement practical solutionsReview job estimates, invoices, warranties, and service-related issues when neededEnsure service and installation teams have the materials, information, and support necessary to complete work successfullyMaintain high standards for workmanship, customer communication, and job completionAssist with recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching, and employee retentionResolve escalated customer concerns while protecting long-term customer relationshipsDevelop repeatable procedures that improve consistency as the company growsWork with ownership on budgeting, forecasting, staffing, pricing, profitability, and business planningHelp identify opportunities to increase revenue, strengthen margins, and expand market presencePromote a workplace culture built around accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and exceptional customer serviceWhat We're Looking For5+ years of management or operational leadership experienceBackground in HVAC, construction, home services, skilled trades, or another service-driven business strongly preferredDemonstrated ability to manage employees and improve team performanceUnderstanding of field service and installation operationsExperience improving productivity, profitability, processes, or customer experienceComfortable working with budgets, reports, operational metrics, and financial performanceStrong decision-making and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to communicate effectively with technicians, office employees, customers, vendors, and ownershipStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesComfortable learning and utilizing scheduling, CRM, dispatch, and business-management softwareValid driver's licenseExperience That Would Be Especially ValuablePrevious leadership of HVAC technicians and installation crewsHVAC technical or field experienceExperience with dispatching and technician schedulingBudgeting, forecasting, P&L, or financial reporting experienceExperience helping a small or mid-sized service company scaleRecruiting and developing skilled-trades employeesFamiliarity with service-management or field-service softwareProven success improving revenue, gross margins, labor efficiency, or customer retentionScheduleMonday-Friday, 7:00 AM-5:00 PMThis is a leadership role, so occasional evening or weekend availability may be necessary depending on business needs.Compensation & Benefits$85,000-$120,000 annual salary, based on qualifications and experienceOpportunity for additional performance-based compensationHealth insurance with 50% of the employee premium paid by the company401(k) with company matchPaid vacation and sick time6 paid holidaysCompany-provided tabletCompany-provided cell phoneOpportunity to play a major role in the continued development and growth of a locally owned HVAC companyThe OpportunityThis position is ideal for a leader who enjoys improving businesses rather than simply maintaining them.
