Title: Sanitation Technician
Job Summary:
The Sanitor position is responsible for effectively cleaning and sanitizing all processing and packaging equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This will ensure that all manufactured personal care products are free of microbes and of the highest quality for consumers.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and sanitizing all equipment while following safety regulations.
- Clean and sanitize batching and holding tanks according to company SOP
- Some light mechanical duties will be necessary to open equipment for thorough cleaning such as pumps or production equipment
- Work with hot water and strong cleaning agents
- Sweep, scrub and mop floors
- Take direction - communicate with others
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
- Industry specific work experience
- Able to work weekends and holidays when necessary
- Able to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel and stretch for extended periods
- Able to work at heights using ladders or lifts
- Able to work in an environment that has extreme temperatures and humidity as well as wet and slippery surfaces
- Experience and knowledge in food/cosmetic sanitation requirements
- An understanding of pathogens and other microbial contaminants
- An understanding of sanitation chemicals and physical cleaning
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to think critically
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-directed with the ability to work independently as well as in a group
- Able to read and understand chemical labels and SDS information
- Possess basic math skills
Education:
Minimum: High school Diploma or Equivalent.
Preferred: Industry specific experience
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand/walk up to 12 hours per shift
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
