Job Description
K9 Security and Protection Service Inc., managed by Secure One Management LLC, is seeking
a vigilant and professional Unarmed Security Guard to join our team in [Insert Location], North
Carolina. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment by
observing and reporting activities, patrolling designated areas, and providing exceptional
customer service. This role requires a commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to
respond effectively to a variety of situations. All Security Professionals in North Carolina must
hold a valid guard card and be registered with the Private Protective Services Board (PPSB).
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Patrol and Surveillance
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including the interior and exterior of
buildings and facilities.
- Monitor security systems, including CCTV cameras and alarm systems, to identify and
address potential security concerns.
- Perform security checks on doors, windows, and other entry points to ensure they are
properly secured.
- Incident Response
- Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations,
including medical emergencies and fire alarms.
- Provide immediate assistance and coordination with law enforcement, emergency services,
and other first responders as necessary.
- Document and report all incidents, observations, and security breaches accurately and
promptly.
- Access Control
- Monitor and control access to the premises, ensuring that only authorized personnel and
visitors enter restricted areas.
- Verify the identification of individuals entering the facility and maintain visitor logs as required.
- Customer Service
- Greet and assist employees, visitors, and clients in a courteous and professional manner.
- Provide information and directions to visitors and address any questions or concerns they
may have.
- Maintain a visible and approachable presence to deter potential security threats and reassure
individuals on the premises.
- Compliance and Reporting
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and client-specific security protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of patrol activities, incidents, and security events in compliance
with company standards.
- Report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or policy violations to the appropriate
personnel.
- Communication
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure
cohesive and coordinated security operations.
- Utilize radio or other communication devices to relay information and request assistance
when needed.
Qualifications
- Experience: Prior experience in security or customer service is preferred but not required.
Experience with security systems and patrol duties is advantageous.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Must possess a valid North Carolina Security Guard License (guard card) and be registered
with the Private Protective Services Board (PPSB).
- Basic first aid and CPR certification is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong observational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure or emergency situations.
- Proficiency in operating security systems and technology.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods. Must be able to
respond to emergencies and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Background: Successful completion of a comprehensive background check, including criminal
history, is required. A clean driving record may be necessary depending on job duties.
