A growing multi-entity services organization, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role suited for an experienced accountant who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to independently manage complex accounting activities. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Controller and broader accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with U.S. GAAP, timely month-end close, and continued improvement of accounting processes and controls.
The ideal candidate is a technically strong accountant who enjoys working through complex accounting issues, analyzing financial information, and improving processes. Candidates transitioning from public accounting are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and support technical accounting activities, including fixed assets, intercompany transactions, consolidations, and GAAP compliance.
- Prepare and review general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes and ensure accounting activities are completed accurately and timely.
- Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting across multiple entities and locations.
- Research accounting issues and assist in determining appropriate treatment under U.S. GAAP.
- Support intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and consolidation activities.
- Maintain and strengthen internal accounting controls and identify opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist with annual financial statement audits, tax preparation, and other compliance and reporting requirements.
- Partner with the Controller and accounting team on accounting policies, procedures, reporting, and special projects.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve systems, and implement best practices.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Operations, Customer Service, and other cross-functional teams to research and resolve accounting issues.
- Provide technical accounting support and serve as a resource to other members of the accounting team.
- Assist with additional accounting and finance projects as the business evolves.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Active CPA license highly preferred.
- Public accounting audit experience required.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Demonstrated ability to research accounting issues and apply accounting standards to business transactions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to identify and implement accounting process improvements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, changing environment and taking ownership of accounting responsibilities.
