Bring your mechanical mastery to EquipmentShare as a Mobile Heavy Equipment Service Mechanic in Cape Giradeau, MO. You’ll keep a cutting-edge rental fleet and customer equipment performing at their best — in the field and in the yard.

What a day could look like

Morning starts by reviewing your digital work queue on a tablet. You create and prioritize work orders, check service intervals, and order parts before you roll out. On site, you pull live data across hundreds of makes and models to pinpoint root causes fast — then repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems with confidence. Between calls, you update electronic documentation, coach a junior tech, and keep your service truck clean and customer-ready.

Schedule & pay
  • Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Overtime paid after 40 hours
  • Subject to on-call scheduling with additional compensation
What you’ll tackle
  • Use laptops/tablets to create, assign, and track work orders and machine service intervals
  • Order parts and accelerate diagnostics by leveraging real-time equipment data
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems with independent judgment
  • Model safe work practices on every job
  • Train and mentor lower-level technicians when needed
  • Maintain complete and timely electronic paperwork each day
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts
  • Travel to customer jobsites; maintain a clean, professional service vehicle
  • Apply OSHA knowledge on site (preferred)
  • Tackle other duties as assigned

Skills & qualifications
  • Owns tools applicable to the role
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and tool proficiency
  • Extensive construction equipment knowledge; advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
  • Excellent customer service, teamwork, and written/verbal communication
Education & experience
  • High school diploma required; trade school certificate preferred
  • Field service, maintenance, and repair experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable record; must be at least 21 to operate company vehicle
Physical demands
  • Move, stand, stoop, and bend freely
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • May need to be clean shaven to access certain customer worksites
