Industrial Automation & Reliability Technician
Job Description
Morning starts with a walk-through of the lines, scanning HMIs and dashboards you’ve accessed remotely via secure VPN to verify PLC performance. A sensor handshake between two machines looks off—you step into ladder logic, trace the I/O, and get the cells talking again. Before lunch, you’re elbows-deep in a root-cause electrical fault, reading schematics, confirming with a multimeter and amp clamp, and validating insulation with a megger. The afternoon turns creative: you tweak an automation sequence and retrofit hardware to boost uptime, then support a Panasonic and Motoman robot integration so the PLC and robots stay perfectly synchronized.
Core responsibilities- Work in automated environments; interpret PLC logic and ensure reliable handshaking between equipment.
- Remotely connect to PLCs through an internet VPN for live monitoring and diagnostics.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues using electrical schematics, a multimeter, amp probes, and a megger.
- Assess equipment capability and implement continuous-improvement modifications.
- Support robotic operations, including Panasonic and Motoman systems integrated with PLCs.
- Respond to line breakdowns and execute repairs across hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Identify upgrades and source equivalent replacements for obsolete parts.
- Perform all tasks safely, efficiently, accurately, and productively in accordance with company policy.
- Apply safety practices including Arc Flash awareness, LOTO, Confined Space, and Fall Protection.
- Drive root-cause analysis and contribute to consistent product quality.
- Provide your own tools and utilize them to complete maintenance work.
- Work mandatory overtime as required; other duties may be assigned by the company.
- Strong maintenance and repair skills across electromechanical systems.
Maintain and repair plant and operations equipment through root-cause fixes—and build or modify equipment to elevate performance via continuous improvement.
