Staff AccountantDepartment: Finance Program: Accounting Reports to: Accounting Manager Employment Status: Full-time FLSA Status: Exempt Schedule: 40 Hours/52 Weeks Preference: TERO Ordinance 2017-01, P.L. 93-638Job SummaryThe Staff Accountant, under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, is responsible for fixed assets and capital projects accounting, general ledger accounting, month-end close, indirect costs allocation, and annual financial audit rediness. Essential FunctionsMaintain fixed assets schedules and reconcile to the general ledgerCalculate and record monthly depreciation expensesTrack work in progress expenses for capital projectsManage indirect cost allocations and assist with the annual indirect cost proposalManage grants receivable and deferred revenue allocations for grant funded programsReconcile assigned general ledger accountsPrepare adjusting journal entriesResponsible for the month-end close process in accounting softwareProvide support and review for A/P, Payroll, and A/R accounting functionsPrepare bank cash depositsAssist with the preparation of work papers and supporting schedules for the annual financial auditEnsures compliance with Tribal, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, Tribal policies and TERO ordinanceIt is the intent of this job description to highlight the essential functions of the position; however, it is not an all-inclusive list.
