Our client seeks a Senior Project Finance Manager who will own project and portfolio-level financials for a fast-growing environment. The role serves as the financial liaison to the PMO, providing budgeting, capital planning, forecasting, variance analysis, and executive reporting across IT and non-IT initiatives. The manager will classify CapEx and OpEx, support audits and invoice workflows, drive standardized financial processes, and translate complex project data into actionable recommendations for senior leadership. The position requires advanced financial modeling, portfolio visibility, and proactive risk management across concurrent projects and vendor engagements.

Rate: $60.00 to $60.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:- Serve as a senior financial liaison to the PMO, advising on budgeting, capital planning, and financial tracking for a portfolio of projects spanning IT and other business functions.
- Assist in capital planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for complex, multi-year projects.
- Own CapEx and OpEx classification for project spend, ensuring alignment with accounting policy and audit readiness.
- Support invoice approval workflows and maintain accurate records for audits and compliance.
- Collaborate with financial stakeholders to implement, monitor, and optimize financial processes that support major transformation efforts.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, dashboards, and portfolio scorecards highlighting KPIs, enhancements, and spending for executive audiences.
- Lead financial analysis and modeling for multi-year capital investment projects, including integration work tied to acquisitions.
- Manage financial relationships with third-party vendors, including contract terms, SOW financials, invoice accuracy, and change order cost impact.
- Support stage-gate and project approval processes with financial documentation, including business cases and ROI models.
- Act as a trusted financial advisor to project and business leadership, translating complex project data into strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
- Own resource cost planning and allocation across concurrent projects, ensuring portfolio-level visibility.
- Drive enterprise-wide standardization of project financial tracking and reporting processes across the organization.
- Proactively identify budget risk and forecast exposure across the project portfolio, flagging concerns before they impact the business.
- Senior-level background in project or portfolio financial management from any industry or function.
- Proven experience managing project and portfolio budgets, forecasts, and cost variance for large-scale initiatives at an enterprise level.
- Deep knowledge of capital project accounting, including CapEx/OpEx classification and multi-year capital planning.
- Executive-level communication skills with experience presenting financial data to senior leadership.
- Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Finance, and project or operational teams.
- Experience supporting stage-gate, project approval, or business case financial processes.
- Comfort operating across IT and non-IT initiatives, with willingness to learn IT terminology and cost structures.
- Expert-level Excel skills, including advanced modeling, pivot tables, and dynamic executive reporting.
- Experience with Workday Financials or a project/portfolio management tool is a plus.
