The Dining Room/ Cabana Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the dining room, ensuring an exceptional guest experience while maintaining high standards for service, hospitality, cleanliness, and team performance. This position leads and supports front-of-house staff, coordinates service, resolves guest concerns, and works closely with management and kitchen leadership to ensure smooth restaurant operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise dining room staff during daily service.
  • Ensure guests receive friendly, professional, and efficient service.
  • Assign sections, manage floor coverage, and coordinate staff breaks.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate daily specials, service expectations, and operational updates.
  • Monitor dining room presentation, cleanliness, ambiance, and service standards.
  • Handle guest questions, concerns, and complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Support reservations, seating, table management, and overall dining-room flow.
  • Train, coach, and develop servers, hosts, bartenders, and other front-of-house employees.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Work closely with the kitchen to coordinate timing, special requests, and guest needs.
  • Monitor food and beverage quality and ensure company standards are followed.
  • Assist with cash handling, closing procedures, and daily operational reports.
  • Help control labor costs, waste, and operating expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and company policies.
  • Maintain a professional, positive, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Step in wherever needed during busy service periods to support the team.
Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant or hospitality management/supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of dining-room and front-of-house operations.
  • Excellent customer-service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Food-safety certification and/or alcohol-service certification preferred where applicable.
